Aurora- When will we see you again

When will we see you again. Seems a long time we had a good Aurora, well a few weeks ago

Cloud, cloud and more cloud has been present and this has put a stop to seeing the Aurora even though its been showing in other areas of Scotland

With activity increasing we should see more Aurora action these coming months and years.

This Aurora at Tingwall is a great example of what we can see when its clear, i even had an otter coming out on the jetty i was stood on, dont know who was more surprised

My Aurora book `Shetland Aurora Hunter' has completely sold out so thanks to the 400 people who bought the book and for the great comments

It was also good to find out that my Night Sky Photography course is also fully booked

The Moon

The Moon is approx 273,000 miles away and makes a good target for any astrophotographers without a telescope

These images were taken with an 800mm telephoto lens and cropped

I thought i would colour the moon, which do you like best the one above or below?

You can even capture the moon with a wide angle lens, you just need a landscape. This one at Scatness in Shetland
